The ‘Tulip’ lights from multiplex are now available wirelessly. The top seller from the Bremen-based carbon specialist can also be controlled via the yacht’s IT system.
The awnings from Bremen-based carbon specialist multiplex shade the decks of over 600 (!) mega yachts worldwide. In addition to LED spots and LED light strips, multiplex has been offering the so-called ‘Tulip’ as a further lighting option for some time now – beautiful and non-dazzling designer lamps that can of course also be dimmed.
This ‘Tulip’ has now been given an upgrade by the multiplex engineers – it is now completely wireless to make installation as uncomplicated as possible for shipyards and crews. A powerful rechargeable battery, which can be replaced in a few simple steps, guarantees the power supply for the ‘Tulip’ for seven hours; an integrated connection including its own IP address to the on-board Crestron system enables the ‘Tulip’ to be controlled. The colour as well as the colour temperature and brightness can be changed.
Another highlight of the ‘Tulip’ is that it serves as an uplight, which can be used to illuminate the sunshade and thus the sail, or to illuminate the floor by turning it 180°. The milled aluminium body, in which the LEDs are encapsulated, is waterproof to protection class IP 67.
In addition to being easy to handle, this innovative multiplex product is characterised above all by its very long service life – the LEDs are designed for an operating time of 50,000 hours.
Jan Reiners, founder and CEO of multiplex, says: „The demand at the trade fairs in Fort Lauderdale and Amsterdam was exceptionally high. With the ‘Tulip’ luminaire, our research and design department has – as so often – responded to the wishes of our customers and filled an important niche in the market.“
